IRS-Defying Pastor Thinks Humanism Is A Religion

"pastor" Cary Gordon

Cary Gordon - preacher

I have a little hint for Pastor Cary Gordon and others who think this: secular humanism is not a fucking religion, you bleeping idiots!  From OneNewsNow christianist news site (emphasis added):

“We’re tired of the hypocrisy of these people because they desire to ensconce — and frankly they’re doing it — …secular humanism [as] the new state religion of the United States of America in violation of the original intent of the First Amendment,” he laments.

Hypocrisy?  [cough-cough!]  Yeh, well plenty of people are tired of how christianists make up their own definitions for words and just plain make shit up and don’t know what the hell they’re talking about.

Secular humanism, for one thing, rejects supernatural beliefs and religious dogma.  That’s why it’s sec·u·lar, dumb-ass.  It is a worldview emphasizing the ability of humans (the hu·man part) to use reason, logic and ethics, not religious dogma or belief in deities, to attain a better existence.

Also funny how the pastor thinks instituting the “religion” of secularism violates church-state separation, but instituting his religion does not.

Gordon stresses that despite complaints from groups like Americans United, he will continue to preach his convictions on Sunday.

And they’ll keep complaining and the IRS won’t do shit about it, and they’ll keep violating the law, just as they always do.  Christians are above the law, and use the religion to justify anything they want to do, anyway.

“I have never, nor will I ever, get a message from the Holy Spirit and then go check with the IRS tax code first to see if it’s okay to preach it,” he states. “I’m tired of pastors submitting to this tyranny — and I’m expecting to try to get the IRS to sue us so that we can take it all the way to the Supreme Court and restore freedom in America’s pulpits.”

Gordon’s church is represented by Christian attorneys from Liberty Institute.

He means, so he and the attorneys at Liberty Institute can rack up some cash in the manufactured “culture war”.  If this dood actually believes he’s “getting messages from spirits”, he is mentally unstable.  There are no ‘messages’ coming from any ‘spirits’.  People who say they “get messages” from the ‘spirit world’ are either crazy or they’re pulling a scam — which one is this guy?

What do christian extremists not understand about the necessity of separation of church and state?  Only a secular government can guarantee deluded idiots the right to practice their superstition, whether it’s Baptist Bible-beating, tarot card reading, Islam, Catholicism or Wicca — all protected by a secular government.

This country was founded by people who wanted to get away from a church-controlled state.  Well, and some who came to create their own theocracies.
