FRC Panic Email: Lying About ENDA “Hiring Quotas” For Churches

I received my usual panic emails from the Family “Research” Council’s Tony Perkins.  I replied with my comments in red, below the fold.  I have emailed them on two other occasions and, of course, have never heard  back.  I’ll see how this one goes.

Other Christian hate groups like the “Traditional Values” Coalition are promulgating bizarre LIES concerning the passage of ENDA.

Substance abuser Andrea Lafferty of the TVC warns that if ENDA is passed, amputee veterans will be molested at work by crazed perverts who like to hump stumps – yes, the crazy bat actually said that.

Lafferty and Tony Perkins (of the Family “Research” Council) falsely claim that ENDA will require hiring quotas of “cross-dressers” and “she-he’s” in schools, churches and christian businesses.

Oh, and men who like non-consensual male/female frottage.

But, according to the text of the Bill, it specifically forbids hiring quotas; it gives specific EXEMPTIONS for RELIGIOUS organizations; these “Christians” are shamelessly LYING in their press releases and email blasts and letters to congressmen.

But, do not expect christians to be honest and tell the truth or dispense fact.  First, here is an excerpt from the ENDA bill outlining the EXEMPTION for RELIGIOUS organizations, as well as forbidding hiring quotas of any kind:

SEC. 6. EXEMPTION FOR RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS.

(a) In General- This Act shall not apply to any of the employment practices of a religious corporation, association, educational institution, or society which has as its primary purpose religious ritual or worship or the teaching or spreading of religious doctrine or belief.

(b) Certain Employees- For any religious corporation, association, educational institution, or society that is not wholly exempt under subsection (a), this Act shall not apply with respect to the employment of individuals whose primary duties consist of teaching or spreading religious doctrine or belief, religious governance, supervision of a religious order, supervision of persons teaching or spreading religious doctrine or belief, or supervision or participation in religious ritual or worship.

(c) Conformity to Religious Tenets– Under this Act, a religious corporation, association, educational institution, or society may require that applicants for, and employees in, similar positions conform to those religious tenets that such corporation, association, institution, or society declares significant. Under this Act, such a declaration by a religious corporation, association, educational institution or society stating which of its religious tenets are significant shall not be subject to judicial or administrative review. Any such declaration made for purposes of this Act shall be admissible only for proceedings under this Act.

Now Steve King (R) Iowa is spouting the “don’t flaunt it and you won’t get fired” b.s./ He says gays will start showing up to work in dresses to start lawsuits!  Insane!  And, IT IS A LIE.  It covers dress codes at work:

(4) DRESS AND GROOMING STANDARDSNothing in this Act shall prohibit an employer from requiring an employee, during the employee’s hours at work, to adhere to reasonable dress or grooming standards not prohibited by other provisions of Federal, State, or local law, provided that the employer permits any employee who has undergone gender transition prior to the time of employment, and any employee who has notified the employer that the employee has undergone or is undergoing gender transition after the time of employment, to adhere to the same dress or grooming standards for the gender to which the employee has transitioned or is transitioning.

Gays do not get fired because they’re “acting gay” at work!  That is NOT HOW IT WORKS in the REAL WORLD.  I lost a job SOLELY from a RUMOR about my sexual orientation (a 40-year old man, divorded for 12 years, no mention of women or a girlfriend).  When my boss heard the rumor, his attitude towards me did a 180.  Instantly, I went from super-employee to lower-than-dirt.  Losing that job almost caused me to lose my home, but what it did cost me what thousands of dollars and a round deep depression.  All that I accomplished there vanished, and in Louisiana I had no legal recourse.

ENDA will protect people who are fired for the SOLE FACT that they are gay.  Religious organizations are EXEMPT.  It cannot be very much clearer and it sure sounds fair to me.

Religious fundamentalists are opposed to ENDA SOLELY because of their blind hatred for gay people.  This is evidenced on a seemingly regular basis by their unashamed public pronouncements of their desire to have gay people “rounded up and dealt with”, etc.

Steve King Says Gays Shouldn’t “Flaunt It” At Work

Now these idiot douchebags are telling people that gays will show up at work in dresses to start law suits for discrimination, and if they just wouldn’t act so damn gay, they won’t suffer from discrimination.  Video below.

These idiots are clueless to the real world.  I lost a job, a really good job, because of a RUMOR that was started about my sexual orientation.  I never told anyone that I was gay or straight; I never talked about my personal life (I was partnered but kept no photos in my office, not even of pets, lest someone ask about them which leads to more personal questions) — but, after working there for two years, other people made it their business — people with nothing better to do with their brains started wondering about the 40-year old man (me) who had been divorced for over ten years, who never talks about women or having a girlfriend.  The bossman got in on the gossip, concluded that I must be gay, and *bam* his attitude did a 180° turnaround that day.

I had always been given superior performance reviews, set up an entire repair facility; I was trustworthy, dependable, and never objected to overtime or being on call-out duty, and I got along with everyone (there were only 8 employees).  When the discussion about my sexuality came up (without my knowledge), my boss told them (the three office ladies) “I’m not having a goddamned queer running this shop”.  One of the ladies came to my office and asked me directly if I was gay, and told me what the boss said.  In the state of Louisiana, there was no recourse.  To these ladies’ credit, they were only curious (well, nosy) and were totally supportive of me; they didn’t know, but should have known, that the boss would react they way he did.

Hey, Steve King and Tony Perkins, you lying douchebags —  Not once did I show up at work wearing a dress.  It totally would have got caught up in the machinery!  jeezus, what goddamned stupid assholes.  Point is, even when you “keep it to yourself”, people will make it their goddamn business, anyway and that is why ENDA is needed.

Here’s an excerpt (emphasis mine) from the Bill with EXEMPTIONS for RELIGIOUS organizations, and WORK DRESS CODES:

Shameless Christian Lies About ENDA

TVC redefines "sexual orientation" to back up their lies.

The “Traditional Values” Coalition continues to shamelessly promulgate distortions and lies, redefining words to make them fit into their scare propaganda.

First, ENDA exempts religious organizations, so the only reason they are this vocal about it is to continue their spread of hatred through fear and lies, which have well earned them their badge of honor: they’re listed as a hate organization by the SPLC.

Out of the sick minds of Andrea Lafferty and her fellow lying christianists, comes truly weird, perverted, sick and twisted fantasies like amputee stump fucking (that’s the latest insanity to come from this revolting cow’s mouth).  Then there are the good old christian standard fantasies of incest, pedophilia and bestiality; on to corpse-fucking, non-consensual male/female frottage and their very favorite activity … eating poop.  Jesus Fucking Christ, these people are disgusting, shameless dirt bags.

The “Dirty 30” … that is TVC’s name for the 30+ paraphilias (which they redefine as “orientations”) listed at the APA’s website.  Not only do they (and all of the anti-gay hate groups) intentionally misquote the APA, they redefine psychological terms to fit their propaganda.  “Sexual orientation”, defined on the APA website, is heterosexual, bisexual, homosexual, and asexual.  Those are the four sexual orientations.  The APA lists “paraphilias”, which are behaviors, not orientations, and are not specific to any one single sexual orientation.

Sorry, TVC, you don’t get to redefine medical and psychological terms to fit your lies and propaganda.  You also don’t get to (in a perfect world) make up wild scenarios from your twisted heads and depict them as though they are actually occurring, or are imminent.  You don’t get to (in that perfect world) manipulate information, twist facts, and lie to people and beg for money for doing it.

Christians’ Lies Get More Desperate And Insane: Homos Will Molest Amputee Vets

Andrea Lafferty and Matt Barber.  Are these idiots huffing household chemicals?  WTF?

The lying christianist bigots have been issuing panic alerts over ENDA: Your children will be forced into classrooms taught by drag queens, cross-dressers, transsexuals, pedophiles and mule-fuckers, because ENDA will mandate quotas of perverts in the schools and churches and daycares.

The fact is that ENDA does not mandate preferential treatment or hiring quotas of any kind, and explicitly prohibits them; the fact is that there are exemptions for religious organizations.  But facts do not put food onthe tables of the christianist leaders of tax-free political-religious lobbying organizations like the American Family Association, Family Research Council, etc.

NOW they’re saying that ENDA will allow employees who are turned on by amputee stumps to molest disabled veterans in the workplace.  Goddammit, what in the fuck is wrong with people?  It takes really sick perverts like Andrea Lafferty and Matt Barber to think this shit up.

I received an email from the Family Research Council (Tony Perkins) regarding ENDA.  This christianist scumbag liar says in the email that churches will be FORCED to have “hiring quotas” of “men dressed as women” and other fucking ridiculous claims, oh yeah, the Dirty 30, another purposeful lie and redefinition.

I sent them the following reply.  (They’ve never answered the last email I sent them regarding DADT.)

Dear Tony,

READ THE BILL.  Your lies need to be exposed.  What is wrong with you people?  You cannot read?  Bearing false witness? … oh, that’s right, christians are allowed to lie when it comes to, oh, everything.

NOBODY will be required to meet quotas of cross-dressers!  And, RELIGIOUS organizations ARE EXEMPT from this bill, so STOP YOUR LYING.

Shameful, shameful liars the FRC is!  You know damn well that these provisions you claim are NOT part of ENDA.  You know damn well that your intellectually captive audience won’t actually read legislation, but instead will count on you to tell them “truth” and they will believe anything you say.

Stop your lying, FRC!  I know you won’t, because the very existence of your organization depends upon lies, distortions, and baseless smears.
I repeat: — NOBODY will be forced to hire anybody!  There is a section that states there are NO QUOTAS required.  The following is from the actual text of the bill on govtrack.
