Louisiana Man Charged With Attempted Murder In Violent Anti-Gay Attack

Surveillance video shows that a vicious attack on 52-year-old John Skaggs in a Shreveport, Louisiana tavern was totally unprovoked.  Several eye witnesses, including the owner of the Sandbar, said the victim was a regular patron at the bar and never bothered anyone, and had never even made eye contact with the attacker, William Payne.  Payne had told someone in the bar that he knew Skaggs was gay and that he was going to go beat him up.  Fucking sick.

face of ignorance: gaybasher William Payne

This comes from only one place: the church.  Christian leaders are working overtime to desensitize their flocks to violence and to encourage them to break the law (as declared in the Manhattan Declaration by Chuck Colson, a convicted felon from the Nixon administration).

Yet Another Anti-Gay Arsonist Burns Yet Another Gay Couple’s Home

image from WRAL.com websiteWhile pulpits across the land burn with the Leviticus death threats “their blood shall be upon them”, another gay couple’s home is burned to the ground after enduring a year of christian-based anti-gay threats, according to a  neighbor of the Clayton, North Carolina victims. [link]

[…]

A neighbor, who asked to remain anonymous for fear of backlash against her, said there have been at least three separate incidents of anti-gay harassment at the home. A note with derogatory language was left in the mailbox, an anti-gay slur was written on the house with marker, and the tires of a car parked in the garage were slashed, the neighbor said.

“For this to happen here… it’s heartbreaking,” she said. “I can’t even put into words how horrible it is for them.”

Bizzell confirmed that the sheriff’s office was aware of two of those incidents, but would not say which two. He would not confirm whether they are related to the arson investigation.

“I felt sick to my stomach. I felt so sorry for the two gentlemen. They lost everything,” the couple’s friend and neighbor said. “We do believe that this is a hate crime.”

[…]

I posted about more anti-gay arson and fire-bomb attacks HEREHERE, and HERE.  These have all happened in the last six months or so.

Yes, keep spreading your message of love and peace, christian leaders. /sarcasm.

Christian leaders preaching hate and lies are directly responsible for these incidents.  “Ye shall know them by their fruits.”

Georgia Home Firebombed Following Christian Anti-Gay Threats

A 40-something gay man in Carroll County, Georgia was in his living room when a rock came smashing through the window of his house.

[… ]

The rock had a threatening note attached.

“It said, ‘we know you’re gay. And God hates gays. You won’t be raping anybody in the county and God’s going to make sure that you burn in hell.’ And something about my daddy… my daddy will make sure you burn in hell,”

Then hours later, he woke up to flames filling his bedroom.

[…]

His mother said she heard a commotion and saw fire coming from her son’s house next door. She said she ran out to find Staples lying in the yard. She said she thought he was dead.

[…]

“This is the first time I’ve dealt with anything of this nature in 16 years,” said Capt. Shane Taylor of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.
“I can’t believe anyone would have such hatred in their heart as to do somebody like that, especially when they don’t even know him. They don’t know him,” she said.“It hasn’t sunk in to me yet that somebody intentionally tried to burn my house down with me in it, and it just doesn’t register,” Staples [the victim] said.

More Christian anti-gay arson crimes:

I posted HERE about a fire-bombing incident last October in Canada following weeks of harassment, threatening notes with Christian anti-gay bullshit, then the mailbox burned down, then *boom* — a fire-bomb through the bedroom window in the early morning hours.  The couple barely escaped with their lives and their dog.  Everything burned to the ground.
Glory to Jesus!  Praise his name!

Canadian Gay Couple’s Home Firebombed After Christian Threats

”]A quiet gay couple, who townsfolk say are just nice, normal people who kept to themselves, woke up in the early morning hours on October 18, 2010 to a firebomb smashing through the bedroom window.  The house burned to the ground and they barely escaped with their dog and their lives.

GuardianUK:

[…]

The man said there were a series of disturbing events that have happened at their house since May that began with an anonymous card he received shortly after the couple moved into the area.

“We received a note in our mailbox … telling us the sins of what we were doing.”

He described it as “a church card in an envelope … with church sayings on it.” He said it contained a printed phrase condemning gay sexuality as sinful. The police now have the card, he said.

A week before the house fire, the couple’s mailbox was set ablaze, he said.

“There’s been ongoing things,” he said. “We were fearful … I slept with a pitchfork in the bedroom.”

He said other events also occurred but he couldn’t disclose details without harming the police investigation.

Ugandan Tabloids Resume Outings And Calls To “Hang Them”

The Ugandan tabloid Rolling Stone (not in any way affiliated with the U.S. Rolling Stone magazine), run by Giles Muhame cashing in on the anti-gay hysteria, last week published names and photos of alleged gay Ugandan citizens with the headline “Hang Them!”

Afterwards, they were shut down by the government, but only temporarily, something having to do with their business license.  Now they are back in operation, and along with the competing Red Pepper and another tabloid, are running more photos and names of citizens, making them targets for violence.

Muhame falsely claims (CNN video at link) that nobody is being attacked because of this evil and inhumane propaganda and says he will keep doing it. Some of the citizens who were named in the first issue and human rights advocates, Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG) are filing legal action.

[UPDATE] – Good news!  Uganda’s high court has ordered the Rolling Stone tabloid to cease publishing these names and photos on grounds of violation of privacy.

The fires of anti-gay hysteria in Uganda were flamed by U.S. pastor/sociopath Scott Lively and other christianist sociopaths.  Lively is very proud of what they have accomplished in Uganda with their dark, twisted version of “christianity”.

Ugandan Tabloid Headline: Hang Them!

Gay Ugandans are living in fear.

Uganda's Rollin Stone: HANG THEM

Inside page: HANG THEM

Scott Lively’s “nuclear bomb” on Uganda has exceeded all his hopes and dreams.  Anti-gay witch-hunts and violence have sky-rocketed since the conferences he attended in Kampala, new anti-gay legislation that includes the death penalty is pending in parliament, and tabloid papers are now calling for gays to be hanged, including alleged names and photos.  Scott Lively and the rest of his fellow christianists should be very proud of this outcome.

Ugandan tabloid Rolling Stone, "Hang them!"

Ugandan tabloid Rolling Stone

Scott Lively has even bragged about his work there and stated that the anti-gay bill is a “step in the right direction.”  Canyon Ridge Christian Church in Nevada also supports the bill and is a financial supporter of the diabolical pastor Martin Ssempa. [UPDATE: this church as recently said that they’ve dropped their support of Ssempa.]

“That sensationalist packaging and messaging is part of the religious right’s rhetoric in the United States, too, and especially for Lively’s conspiracy-minded assertions of a link between Nazism and homosexuality. Uganda merely provided Lively a more friendly stage; as he said in Kampala, “I can’t say this in America, but I can say it in Africa.” But as evidenced by Fischer’s frequent echoing of Lively’s writings, and the refusal of leading religious right and Republican figures to distance themselves from Fischer, in some domestic circles he certainly can say those things. In Uganda it translated into the AHB, which Lively has called a “step in the right direction.”

And, it is the direction that christianists like Scott Lively, Bryan Fischer, Lou Engle (to name just a few) would love to see in the United States.

TN Couple’s Home Torched After Threats From Neighbor

hate crime in TN

QUEERS lived here.

In Tennessee, a lesbian couple’s home was burned to the ground in a possible arson hate crime (emphasis added):

Carol Stutte says her partner is too afraid to come back to the property since the fire. She says they’ve been harassed all five years they’ve lived there by one neighbor.

She also says recently the neighbor threatened to kill them and burn down their house,” Stutte said. “I knew we had been threatened, but we never thought anything would be followed through,”

Lora Black, the Stutte’s neighbor and friend, was with the couple in Nashville when they learned their home was on fire.

“Right now, they are just terrified that our county is feeling like this about homosexual couples. Most homosexual couples are no different than any other couples,” Black said.

The Stuttes are staying in a safe house until investigators can determine what happened the night of the fire.

Linda Jernigan Shares The Love

Linda Jernigan preaches the lieAnother “ex-gay” tool projecting her own effed-up life and self-loathing onto others, spouting the Old Testament.  On her website, Linda Jernigan says that God commands christians to “UTTERLY DESTROY” (her own CAPS) the “demonic forces” and gay people are those demonic forces, and God commands christians to “destroy them without apologies” — BUT, but “please know” she doesn’t “promote violence towards homosexuals” BUT christians can “confidently annihilate demonic forces” (the homosexuals) — but remember, she, or rather, “God (and I) loves homosexuals” — she had to include herself in parentheses there ‘coz, you know, she’s only loving them because gOd makes her love them, yet gOd commands her to kill them.

Yeah, I’m feeling the love.  Loud and clear, Ms. Jernigan, from every extremist’s pulpit these days I hear it loud and clear, every Deuteronomy death proclamation, every Leviticus call for blood.  This is exactly the kind of talk I heard coming from politicians in ’06 that woke me up from my happy little life.

“From almost twenty years of personal experience I know homosexuality is filled with pain, torment, shame, and confusion. In addition, suicide rates among lesbians are twice as high in comparison to heterosexual women. Also, 30% of all suicide attempts among people between the ages of 15-24 are homosexuals; and, domestic violence is the third leading cause of death among homosexuals (behind AIDS and substance abuse) How loving does this sound? Can you see how homosexuals are using simple words to advance their agenda? In addition to advancing their agenda, Satan’s desire is to place the church under arrest in our communications (print and media), speech (verbal and nonverbal), and language (words).

Demons!  Annihilate!  Agenda! Kill!  “Can you see how [christian whackjobs] are using simple words to advance their agenda?”, and their lies?  Jernigan’s “personal experience” is not mine, nor anyone else’s I know.  Jernigan is another one of these christian extremists who come from some really effed-up backgrounds (I am reminded of James Hartline with his meth-burned brain).  This is her fucked-up life, this is her torment, confusion and shame, it is her alcoholism, her drug addiction (from her ‘about‘ page) and food addiction (unless it’s ‘glandular’, my apology; other than that, she is a glutton, which is soundly condemned in the Buy-Bull) and definitely not treating her body as a temple.  The Bible also says that women shall not adorn themselves and that they shall not be allowed to speak, teach, or have any kind of authority over men.  Then there’s that Ten Commandment thing, like, you know, Do Not Lie.  Yikes!  Looks like Linda doesn’t follow her own scriptures very well at all.  Her Bible is crystal clear about following these rules!

Surprise! Another Hate-Filled Preacher

"It's time to stop burning flags and start burning fags!"

"It's time to stop burning flags and start burning fags!"

This sermon is from 15 years ago.  Pastor Jeff Owens issued an “apology” which you can read at Joe.My.God. Joe notes the apology is sort of hidden on their contact page.

The damage this sermon caused over the years is unmeasurable; it can’t be known, only speculated.  I’d love to be able to dig up police reports from that town in the days after that sermon.  Besides any attacks that could have been provoked by the “godly” words of a sociopathic Man of God™, that attitude gets passed down to children with their parents at that sermon.  What if a parent in that congregation had a kid who was gay, and they believed they had a christian duty to put their kid through a lifetime of hell?

Or, a kid sitting in that sermon who decides it’s then OK to physically harm and even kill other human beings they deem inferior, as long as they invoke the god.  Or the kid who took it to heart and ended up abusing drugs or committing suicide, because this vile man made them believe that they were human garbage.  Words, especially from someone in a leadership position, have tremendous weight.  And these people need to be exposed, it needs to be called out for the dangerous rhetoric that it is.

“We need to stop burning flags and start burning FAGS! We need Hunt-A-Homo Week. We need to take ’em all out and shoot ’em with a scatter shotgun.” – Pastor Jeff Owens.

“Gays Were Taken Care Of”: Admission To Committing Crimes?

Ron Kirkland, admitting to crimes committed against gays``````

Ron Kirkland, (a physician!) brags about committing crimes against gay people?

What do these assholes mean by this exactly? This is what two political candidates in Tennesee said at a Tea Party event:

Kirkland, a Vietnam veteran, said of his time in the military: “I can tell you if there were any homosexuals in that group, they were taken care of in ways I can’t describe to you.”

Smith, who served in the first Iraqi war, added: “I definitely wouldn’t want to share a shower with a homosexual. We took care of that kind of stuff, just like (Kirkland) said.”

Investigate these assholes!  They have publicly bragged about having committed crimes, while active in military service.  And, they (Kirkland, anyway, it doesn’t say if Smith is) are physicians! Check on any rape cases that were swept under, considering the fact that 1-in-3 military women report being sexually assaulted by fellow soldiers, heterosexual male soldiers.  Pair those statistics with these two men’s (Kirkland and Smith) confessions of crimes while in the military and chances are very likely that they have assaulted female military personnel also.  Seems to make sense given how heterosexual men in general have a really difficult time controlling themselves, documented in many thousands of daily police reports across the world: rapes, murders, kidnappings, unspeakable child abuses — being male and heterosexual seems to preclude one to committing horrible crimes. </sarcasm> </sarcasm> Jeezus, it should be obvious.

Christians Support Beating The Gay Out Of Students

Christian Hatred Will Not Be Silenced - Day of Silence WALKOUT

Day of Silence WALKOUT

The “Day of Silence Walkout” is sponsored by every hateful christian organization out there, proudly listed at the bottom of their page, as an act of defiance against the annual Day of Silence, a voluntary event designed to call attention to bullying in schools, especially the bullying of students who are, or are perceived to be, gay.  Bullying that often times ends with suicide or murder.  From the landmark legal case on bullying and school complicity, Nabozny v. Podlesny:

For four years Jamie Nabozny was subjected to relentless antigay verbal and physical abuse by fellow students at his public high school in Ashland, Wisconsin. Students urinated on him, pretended to rape him during class and when they found him alone kicked him so many times in the stomach that he required surgery. Although they knew of the abuse, school officials said at one point that Nabozny should expect it if he’s gay. Nabozny attempted suicide several times, dropped out of school and ultimately ran away.

Absolutely shameful.  This is what christians are promoting with the Walkout, proudly, unabashedly condoning anti-gay violence on kids.  These ignorant, stupid christian MORONS are making this into a “homosexual activities” issue.  Kids don’t get beaten for “activities” or “behaviors” — most of these kids probably haven’t even had sex yet!  Kids get beaten because they “look like a queer”, they “look like a sissy or a dyke”.  Kids get harassed and beaten because they’re weak, or dress funny, or have certain mannerisms, or they walk funny, or can’t play sports, whatever.  That makes them “gay/fag/dyke/sissy” to the bully, and that is what gets them beaten or harassed, and adults are complicit in, and many times encouraging  or initiating, the abuse.

The first lie on the Walkout site is that students are required to stay silent even during instruction periods.  The facts are: students’ participation is voluntary and the ones who choose to join the Day of Silence are encouraged to speak and participate in classroom lessons and instruction.  The christianist groups are trying to make it into something it is not, a “politicizing of the classroom”, and “encouraging homosexual behavior”.

Neal Horsley Is Naming Gay Kenyans For Death

This christian sociopath, Neal “Mule-Fucker” Horsley, who was arrested after the YouTube video of his “Elton John must die” protest was posted, is running a website in Kenya that is naming specific people and outing them and calling for their deaths.  This has got to be illegal for a U.S. citizen to post public death threats in another country.

There are efforts underway to get the host, goDaddy.com, to pull the site projectsee.com.  He has his organization there putting up “Not Wanted” posters up in several cities in Kenya; the posters show photos and contact information, in Swahili, for “known homosexuals”.  Below is a really sick photo I got from his projectSEE (Stop Exporting Evil) website.  Now we know what type of men turn Horsley on. These homophobic, closeted types like this always seem to be fixated on masculine, muscular, good-looking men.  They FEAR the homo inside of them so much that they are willing to kill, literally kill, anyone that puts that fear in their faces.  They FEAR what they perceive as a threat to their masculinity because they are not secure in it themselves.

He also targets a gay travel site gay2afrika.com … it appears to be like any other gay travel agency, but Horsley is convinced that they arrange butt-fucking safaris and hunt down children.  He can’t wrap his head around the idea that gay people actually live lives and work and travel on vacations just like heteros do, and they like to do business with gay-owned businesses.  His suspicions of this travel agency are bizarre and would be hilarious if he wasn’t so demented and dangerous because of the influence he is wielding in Africa.

"Arrest Sodomites" - photo on Horsley's website

Photo on Horsley's website - now we know what type turns him on.

Here’s an article by Horsley, “Arrrest Homosexuals – It’s For Their Own Good”, on Dan Savage’s site.  This dude is clearly buck-ass insane.

New Threats To Gays Coming From Muslims In Kenya

On GayUganda blog:

The Government in Kenya is Reluctant to Protect Citizens of Kenya, because they are gay.

Those who are not gay can issue threats on the Radio Stations with impunity. And promise and then carry out Genocide or Ethnic Cleansing with impunity. Now, they say that the next attacks will be more brutal. And, they will happen after Friday Prayers on 12 Mar. 2010

Now, we all know. What will the Government of Kenya for its citizens who are gay and persecuted for that reason? Read this heartrending letter of appeal.

Hello All,

A fresh Threat to Gay People in Mombasa has been issued, a statement read to local journalists after the evening Prayers last Friday reads in Part… “Homosexuals are not human beings and should be treated as such….. The KEMRI-UW research centre has been given 7 Days to close or we shall attack it on Friday next week (This week)”

This is a very sad situation.  Don’t know what else to say.
